I went there for Three Kings Day to buy a slice of king cake as I do every year. I used to get a pretty big slice for around $1. I was surprised to find much smaller slices for $2. The staff were giving free toys to children outside the store. As I waited in line to pay for the slice, a woman in line suggested we purchase a king cake and divide it in two. Perhaps it would be worth it? We each paid $12.50 for our half. The cashier was nice enough to send it to be cut and placed in two boxes. I'm not sure if you get at least six slices in your half king cake. I hope so. While there's inflation, the slices could be bigger or be sold for $1.50.

I 100% love Tierra Caliente Panaderia. This bakery offers a variety of central American baked goods, and when I say variety I am talking about racks and racks of options with treats whose names I don't recognize but that look oh so good. Lately I've been stopping by every weekend to pick up some bolillos to use to make sandwiches for lunch for the early part of the coming week, and also to just try some random treats. For instance, last week I enjoyed several thick pieces of Salvadoran semita, and this week I picked-up a bag of Mexican biscuit-like treats called gorditas de nata. The prices are super cheap. The bakery is located close to Tacos La Bala, so why not hit both during your visit?

I just need something cheap. I stopped by here. When I entered into this bakery, A lady spoke Spanish to me. I am sorry. This Chinito no Espanol.LOL.Anyway, she asked me to sanitize my hands and wear gloves. This was a good practice. I picked up two pieces of bread. It was $1.50.Each bread was $.0.75.You beat 99 cents store!! LOL.

This is one of my favorite pan dulce spots in Houston. It's like walking into bread heaven! Literally it feels and smells like holiday season year round. They carry almost every pan dulce you can think of in here. The plus is every time I come in they have a verity of fresh out of the oven bread specifically conchas my favorite! During holiday times you can find vendors outside selling traditional homemade Mexican treats. Like tamales, champurado, atole, and hot chocolate. Even the coffee it traditional cafe de olla. I cannot rave about this place enough!

If you're a hot girl wearing a princess crown, I'll call you Tiara Caliente. And if one of your teeth is shrinking, omg it's Tiny Calladentist. All you need to know is. They make the Bala bread. And yum. One of the very best and most unheralded bakeries in all of the Houston area and probably in all of Texas. They make some of the most delicious little Bolillos that you will ever taste. As well as a lot of delicious Mexican bakery products. A truly wonderful Panaderia. Tiny and with some really angry servers - although some of the others are nice. Also, the prices are so cheap it's actually painful to buy from here. It feels like you're robbing them blind. Amazing. Should get 10 stars. They use these Bolillos at Bala next door - who whip them up into probably the best Torta you will ever eat. Try the Torta de Cochinita Pibil at Bala and see for yourself. Anyway I have to go. I have to call iente.
